Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga and meditation classes are suitable for seniors, people living with disabilities, the aged, and those with mobility, balance or weight bearing issues.
Importantly, Chair Yoga is inclusive as it gives the same opportunity of enjoying the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits to anyone, anywhere.
Laughter Education Australia’s Chair Yoga and meditation is perfect for on-site weekly classes and is highly recommended as a regular lifestyle and wellbeing activity for Residential and Aged Care Homes. Family members and staff are always welcome to drop in and take part in regular classes.
As its name indicates, Chair Yoga is done seated. This means participants do not have to worry about getting down onto the floor or the ground and, importantly, they don’t have to worry about getting back up again. Each Chair Yoga and meditation class follows the same time structure with the same content and exercises. This is ideal for participants who respond well to routine.
New students can join at any time while those who might need to miss a class will not fall behind. Many students are able to learn a routine that can be practised between classes. This is empowering as they will become more confident and alert. Over time, their movement and balance can become stronger which also boosts their self-esteem.
